Birthday Party / Make Petits Fours

Make Petits FoursFirst, have you taken a look around our updated site? After spending a year with our former design, Lulu and I felt it was time for a fresh look; we couldn’t be happier with how it came out! We are still updating a few of the pages {slow as we are}, but the two of us encourage you to peek at both our new bios and our models’ new bios, which you can see HERE and HERE.

Secondly, if you have been following along with Camp Doll Diaries, you may have noticed that we contributed today! You can see our photo story and download our free printable HERE.

Alrighty, with the updates out of the way, let’s move on to the first of our birthday party fun posts! If you are anything like us, you would have to agree that a party’s menu is one of the most important parts to its success. While brainstorming the dishes for our secret garden extravaganza, Lulu and I couldn’t help but think of the dainty pastries and finger sandwiches served at tea parties. A petit four, which means “small oven” in French, is a tiny cake covered in icing – yummy, right?! :) Making them for your doll could never be easier. With a few simple supplies, you’ll have petits fours for all of your party guests in ten minutes!

Petits Fours SuppliesYOU WILL NEED…

  • Thick craft foam in the color of your choice {we used white}
  • Thin craft foam in the color of your choice
  • Hot glue gun or craft glue
  • Scissors
  • Mini flower embellishments {available at craft stores}

How to Make Petits FoursTO MAKE

  1. Cut out two 0.5 by 0.5 squares from the thick craft foam.
  2. Cut out a 0.5 by 0.5 square from the thin craft foam.
  3. Using your glue gun or craft glue, attach the pieces of foam together so that the thin piece is “sandwiched” in the middle.
  4. Glue a floral embellishment on the top.

Make Petits FoursIt couldn’t be easier! Nicki, as the unofficial dessert taste-tester, completely agrees.

Have a lovely rest of your Tuesday!

  1. Have not been able to download the magazine even when trying the two parts. Can’t it be saved in the PDF format at a smaller size. It was spinning on my computer for two hours and still hadn’t completed part I. I have no problems with other pdf’s downloaded from other sites, they just zip along and are in a flash. How many MB’s is the magazine PDF?
