We are so happy that you have stumbled upon our little site. Our names are Bella and Lulu, and we are sisters, best friends, and former co-editors.
Doll Mag was a completely free online magazine devoted to dolls, which we published from 2012 to 2015. Bella started the magazine as a personal project as a preteen: feeling bored one afternoon, she combined her love of graphic design and play to mock up a mini magazine for her American Girl doll using our family desktop computer and Powerpoint software. In true little sister fashion, Lulu wanted in on the fun.
Together, we continued making magazines and eventually shared them with the blogosphere, setting up this site in the spring of 2013. Issues of Doll Mag — as well as the site itself — featured crafts, reader interviews, style tips, and ideas for you and your doll. Doll Mag connected doll lovers from around the world, and we were delighted to find our magazine read by hundreds of girls, all from different backgrounds, cultures, and communities.
Though we no longer write new issues of Doll Mag, the publication is close to our hearts. It is our childhood — documented via photo stories, crafts, comments, and interactions with readers. We hold immense gratitude for the creativity, play, and joy that it encouraged, in both ourselves and others.
We updated the site, a bit, in 2020 and 2021. Please take a look around — we hope Doll Mag makes you as happy as it made us!
